SIGNA Pioneer
The SIGNA Pioneer AIR Edition magnetic resonance imaging system, manufactured by General Electric in 2021, combines the power of a 3T magnet with the latest technologies in the field of magnetic resonance imaging, ensuring a diagnosis with the highest level of accuracy.
The SIGNA Pioneer AIR Edition is the first magnetic resonance imaging system in Romania to feature image reconstruction technology that uses artificial intelligence—AIR Recon DL. This ensures much clearer images in less time compared to traditional image reconstruction technologies.
AIR Coil
The system is also equipped with the world’s lightest and most flexible antenna — the AIR Coil — which is designed to conform to the human body like a comfortable blanket, significantly improving patient comfort during the exam while also delivering a much better signal, resulting in high-quality images and shorter scan times.
For brain exams, the SIGNA Pioneer AIR Edition system uses artificial intelligence to prescribe the entire exam—AIR X— thereby ensuring shorter exam times, accurate image acquisition, consistent results, and reliable repeatability of the exam.
The SIGNA Pioneer AIR Edition can intelligently select the antennas and antenna elements needed to perform an examination— using AIR Touch technology— by choosing the optimal combination of these components, thereby tailoring each examination to the specific clinical needs of each patient.

Turbo LAVA Flex
The SIGNA Pioneer AIR Edition makes the scan a comfortable experience for patients. Patients can breathe freely thanks to Auto Navigator technology, which is compatible with Turbo LAVA and Turbo LAVA Flex sequences, enabling a complete, free-breathing abdominal exam—even with contrast-enhanced sequences.
Using Propeller technology, the SIGNA Pioneer AIR Edition system enables full-body imaging without motion artifacts, thereby reducing the patient’s stress.
The Inhance Suite and 3D ASL applications allow for the acquisition of angiography and perfusion images without the need to inject patients with contrast dye, thereby eliminating the risks associated with this type of examination as well as the discomfort caused to patients by the injection.
Using the Dixon technique, which is available for whole-body, musculoskeletal, breast, or spine imaging, it is possible to acquire four different contrast images in a single scan, thereby reducing the time required for examinations and, consequently, the time the patient spends inside the MRI scanner.
